Skill Training centers a way towards Empowerment

With the Covid 19 pandemic, most programs had to be rescheduled. The young women who were benefitting from the skill training had to be reorganized. We began to hold the centers with 8 to 10 girls in one batch on alternative days. Since schools, colleges, coaching classes are now not functional; we found the girls were ready to come. There is an eagerness to learn sewing but we wondering about their continuity. Because once the parents find a good match for the girls they pressurize the girls to get married. Often we have to intervene and ensure that the girls will complete their course and become skilled before they get married. As of today we have 10 centers which are functional. We hope to begin two more centers in the coming months.
