Sewing centers

Visit to the sewing centers as a pre examination checking to find out whether the young women have mastered the skill of sewing. It was a time also to interact with the young women and to encourage them to dream big and to work towards realizing the dream. The points that were emphasized was that each of the young women should not only master the skill of sewing but related issues about finishing to be done, to know how to present the finished product to the customers. The soft skills which they must keep in mind are about punctuality, be true to their word and also be honest at all times. The areas for improvement are basic punctuality, to adhere to the directions given by those who are older to us or play the role of ‘Guru’. The final examination and the distribution of certificates means that they are skilled and will be in a position to begin their small business and become economically independent. When they are able to earn, their self respect also increases and their esteem level rises in the family. Examples of previous batched were also shared and how the women are moving ahead as well.
