Monsoon an opportunity to go green
As the heavens opened and showered blessings of rain to our parched land, we also as a group, decided to plant saplings in the land wherever we had. We had been promoting the planting of saplings and encouraging our people to use whatever little land they had to plant saplings. This is one way of ensuring a safe future for our children. On the 5th June World Environment Day, we had planted a few fruit saplings in our office garden and awaiting the monsoons to come forth. While on one hand there is destruction taking place due to lopsided development , activists are planting trees. Mother Earth seems to be groaning in pain as we plunder her, rape her and uproot her from the soil. Unfortunately the capitalists and economists are unable to accept the damage they have been doing to Mother Earth living organisms. We hope we humans will going in consciousness of our interdependence and will respect all living beings and learn to live in harmony and peaceful coexistence.
