Mashurganj at cross roads

Mashurganj is at the other end of the city of Patna. There is a community of Mushaars (the most backward) who have been residing along the drain for decades. Most of them work as sweepers and clean our roads and collect our garbage. When we visited the place and saw the pathetic situation in which they live, we felt there was a need to intervene. Listening to their stories and sharing their struggle we were able to understand as to why they live the way they do. Due to the widening of the road, most of their houses were demolished and they were living in very vulnerable situations. This was enough reason to ensure that they need to be rehabilitated before the monsoon sets in.
