Fire at Tees Lal Verma
People who live o the periphery are susceptible to all kinds of tragedies; in the process they become resilient. They take everything in their stride coming to terms with the cruel reality of life.
It is devastating when people, families lose everything that they have, though their belongings are few, yet they often left with the clothes on their body, the only possessions they hold. It was with great pain when we heard of the tragedy that befell Tees La Verma Nagar. About six families lost everything. Our first response was to inform the emergency department, so that the officials can verify the situation and facilitate the process of getting some compensation.
In the meantime, we tried to collect some clothes and reach out to the victims of this disaster. It was pathetic to find the young women standing with what little they had to clad themselves. We have followed this up with the officials ensuring that they will get some compensation.
