Demand for Food security through – Fair shop prices

Working with the informal sector, we come to the realization that there is no regular work and when there is no work, then there is no food. The substitute of the food grains from the fair price shops helps them at times when there is no food. We decided to meet the women at different points and find out how many of them did not have ration cards. We gathered the people and put up a grievance in the ‘Lok Shikayat’ about why the people were not getting their rations. This was an opportunity to place before the officials the dire need of the people. The process is on and we do hope that this initiative will find good results.
